I feel very relieved that the 4th quarter of Malama Honua is done. The final project was a very stressful but insightful experience. With the struggles we went through with the Midkiff Project in communicating with the Librarians it was interesting to get thrown into the adult world. Presentation wise, I wasn't too sure how it would pan out. We were at a scramble at the end to make sure we had everything done correctly, especially with new information given to us by Todd. Overall I was happy with the way our group displayed our project. Our presentation was great in my opinion, even though we went over time. I felt like we could've talked for half an hour if needed. That is how much information we had to share. We got a lot of questions so to me that meant we had a good project that sparked a lot of interest in the issue we were tackling. Overall I am happy with what we were able to accomplish.

Throughout this last quarter, I felt like it was the most challenging. Working in a group definitely takes lots of communication and patience. Although we have always been grouped up during this entire year, I feel like this was the most challenging because of the project we were working on. Despite some of the challenges we may have faces, I enjoyed working with my team members and I am proud of all the work we put in. Being able to work on projects that we decided on, has made me realize how much we as students, can make an impact. I am excited to see what future classes do to try to make Kamehameha Schools even better.
The final project was, just like Blake said, stressful and required a lot of time and effort put into it. The best thing that I thought was gonna be the learning trips, but unfortunately I couldnt go on the last one since I had a few finals to take that day. Coming up to the last presentation I felt that we could talk forever since we had a lot of information to talk about. The last thing I want to talk about are the memories made, which were not a lot but they were memorable. My classmates around made the class fun and enjoyable. And definitely because Mr. Blake was the Kumu had made the class even more entertaining. I feel relieved that the last quarter of Malama Honua is done and the fact that school is coming to a close, makes me happy.
The presentation was long. Super long. A few groups went overtime and we were one of them. Sadly we came out at like 14 minutes, but when we were talking it was as if we weren't even talking that long. Eh, oh well. We got asked a few questions and we tried our best to answer them. A few things is that we are backed up on a few of our blog posts so we will be trying our best to catch up on those. The presentation was pretty long and we all hoped that it was shorter but it wasn't so oh well. We added all of our information onto the presentation and it came out pretty good. Everyone else's one was also nice too.
Wooo, today's the day. We are all set and ready to expect the unexpected and bang out this presentation with ease. So we found out our position in the line and our group is going first after the short 10ish minute break. That's good since we get to see and get a feel of how quickly we should be talking and see how the other groups respond to questions. A few things is that we are backed up on a few of our blog posts so we will be trying our best to catch up on those. Another thing is that we need to add information to our presentation so it is not just titles when we're speaking. We are all hoping that when tonight comes everyone speaks quickly and does not go over time so we can get home faster. And then we're off to the presentations.
We are one day away from the due date and deadline for our presentation. Any last minute changes and arrangements are being set into place. We are set now and our presentation looks fine. We are all just nervous for the day and to have to stay till 9oclock is still bugging us all. A few things is that we are backed up on a few of our blog posts so we will be trying our best to catch up on those. Another thing is that we need to add information to our presentation so it is not just titles when we're speaking. We are all hoping that when presentation day comes everyone speaks quickly and does not go over time so we can get home faster. Lastly, our group has completed all of our slides for the presentation and sort of distributed the report sections amongst each other.
To start off the day, we got more information put onto our presentation and that is very good saying that we all present this Friday. We feel like this week has been hectic being that not only this class has been bugging us for assignments and project research but also our other classes. In the end, we are closing in on the presentation date and it is coming fast. The best we can do to prepare is ready ourselves for the day to come and catch up on these blogs.
Today Todd just sent us a forwarded email thread between himself and a lot of people. Basically he was checking to see if Boarding study hall was done using Midkiff and got approval by boarding, custodians, and security to change the schedule. The majority of the thread was the back and forth of Todd and Aunty Kauwela, the custodian. She sent a very long email explaining the history, problems, and reasons why the librarians would VETO the energy change. There was a lot of information to digest that will be helpful for our presentations. Even though overall the Midkiff project will get a no, it is happy to hear that the conversation has been sparked to make Midkiff more energy sustainable.
Here on out we're just waiting for some data to add to our presentation and hope we are all ready the night of. Currently we are making our last report for the project and we are compiling all of our collected data to explain our decisions as a group. This upcoming final week of school has clearly hit, not only our group but, the entire class with the force of a nosediving B52. We are all scrambling, calmly scrambling, to complete this and many other projects we were assigned.
Just another work day to focus on our presentations and our report which is due next week but is still a graded assignment that we all need to do as a group. We all feel confident about this Friday and we are ready for whatever is to come to us, whether it be a parent asking a lot of questions or our group running over or under the time limit.
